Fine Dining & Authentic Cuisine Highlights

Amamoto (Tokyo)

A truly intimate sushi experience with just a few seats; the precision of each bite was unreal.

Den (Tokyo)

So much fun and flavor. The chef’s playful twists (like the iconic “Dentucky Fried Chicken”) made it feel personal and surprising, without ever losing elegance.

Kyoto Sen (Kyoto)

Tucked away in Gion, this was one of our favorite Kyoto meals. Each dish tells a story, and the chef came out to explain the ingredients. Beautifully quiet and soulful.

Kagurazaka Ishikawa (Tokyo)

A hidden sanctuary. The service was flawless, and we still talk about the clear soup course—so delicate but deeply comforting.

Tempura Kondo (Tokyo)

Crisp, feather-light tempura that’s nothing like you’ve had before. The sweet potato is our standout—simple but unforgettable.

Hyotei (Kyoto)

Dining here felt like being inside a haiku. Over 400 years old, and you feel that timelessness in the tea garden and the ceremonial calm of the service.

Sazenka (Tokyo)

A surprising fusion of Chinese technique with Japanese elegance. Every course is daring but balanced—we couldn’t stop talking about the tea pairings.

Gion Sasaki (Kyoto)

So warm and welcoming, even at this level. The chef jokes with you from across the counter, and every dish is a little adventure. We love the grilled ayu.

La Maison de la Nature Goh (Fukuoka)

If you want something unexpected, Goh is it. It’s cool, a bit edgy, and full of personality. Our favorite course is an uni risotto that tasted like the sea.

Sushidokoro Masa (Sapporo)

A total gem in Hokkaido. It was one of the most relaxed omakase we’ve had, with pristine fish and zero pretension. The snow crab nigiri is heavenly!
